The School of Physics and Applied Physics (previously the Department of Physics) is known for its caring and compassionate student-focused approach for delivering a top-notch education. As one of the only comprehensive research university in the southern Illinois region the School is uniquely placed to serve the local area students and community. Your gift will help us build the much needed scholarship funds and world-class research infrastructure for enabling the best possible learning experiences. A variety of specializations options ranging from modern Computational Physics to Materials and nano-scale physics are available for Physics Majors. The school offers both graduate and undergraduate programs, and boasts a very high (>90%) first destination jobs for its graduates.
